Tiger Lily (Wild)
Picture Oregon Wild Tiger Lily and Native Plant Pictures
This picture of the Wild Tiger Lily was taken off a back road heading to the Coast Range in late spring just outside Alsea Oregon.
THE Wilde Tiger Lily comes into bloom from early May through July in the higher locations. As you drive the roads, you may see a variety of Wild Tiger Lily colonies scattered along the roadsides. Stop, take a picture, but leave the Tiger Lily where it lives for others to share in the natural beauty. The Wild Tiger Lily varies in size depending upon its sun and nutrition available to it. We have found this native wild flower from about one foot tall to over seven feet tall. I prefer a high contrast setting, but because of the availability of this native plant, you can make several choices on exposure and lighting settings to get the just right Wild Tiger Lily Picture for your collection.
Lilium columbianum It is known by several common names, Tiger Lily, Columbia Lily and Oregon Lily. It ranges from British Columbia to northwestern California, and east to northern Nevada and northern Idaho. This is one of the most popular western wildflowers. They grow wild in our woodlands.
